National Amusements Showcase Cinemas

Weisman Roofing has had a productive "partnership" with this corporate client since 1976 installing new commercial roofing systems on newly constructed theaters and replacing aged commercial roofing systems on existing theaters.
Over the past 30 years, roofing technology has changed, and the lifetime cost of roofing has come down. On the original newly–constructed Showcase theaters in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Weisman Roofing applied tar and gravel built-up commercial roofing systems. Years later, and after long service, these were removed and replaced with modern fully-adhered Firestone EPDM roofing.
Older tar and gravel built-up roofing systems become difficult to maintain after many years of service because it becomes difficult to isolate where leaks are coming from. Water can travel a distance through the plies of a tar and gravel roof, before actually appearing as a “leak,” which means that a significant amount of gravel must be removed to find the original entry point before a repair can be started. Flexible, easy to inspect modern EPDM single-ply membrane fully-adhered or mechanically attached roofing systems overcome this shortfall.
On other existing Showcase Cinemas with new additions, Weisman Roofing was able to successfully tie in a new EPDM commercial roofing system to the older sections, using modified bitumen products.
