Methodist High Rise
East Providence, Rhode Island
Using an experienced commercial roofing contractor, like Weisman Roofing, is necessary for renovating high-rise public housing. It is not feasible to relocate tenants, while work is completed, and tenants will not accept major disruptions either. Clutter and noise have to be controlled.
Weisman Roofing, the Rhode Island based commercial roofing contractor, was selected to work on the Methodist High Rise apartments in East Providence. This posed a few specific challenges that Weisman was able to meet.
Work started with the removal of multiple roofing systems, including layers of and existing tar and gravel were starting to leak badly.
After preparing the underlying roof deck, Weisman began the task of pumping hot asphalt up to the top of the 120-foot roof elevation. Once the hot work was complete, gravel was also lifted up to the top of this large building, and the UV protecting gravel layer was applied.
Some tar and gravel commercial roofing systems only last between 10 and 15 years, but Weisman Roofing with its application expertisewas able to offer a 20-year warranty on the Methodist High Rise roofing project. Tar and gravel commercial roofing systems provide good insulation, and are a trouble-free roofing solution, when installed by Weisman.
